Few know it, but "Prophetic Medicine", which we have the honor to present here, is a chapter of this monumental work that is Zâd al-ma'âd by the eminent scholar Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (1292- 1350) whose al-Hadîth editions had the honor of publishing the first complete and annotated translation which we have entitled "Zâd al-ma'âd, Muhammad model of success".
The importance of this subject and its burning topicality given the exceptional health situation that we have been experiencing since January 2020 have encouraged us to publish this book.
The main added values of our edition are the two prefaces by Professor Mustafa Kastit and Sister Hanane Afellah, a renowned nutritionist and dietician, who both shed a theological, spiritual, medical and dietetic light on this discipline that is prophetic medicine. The eminent scholar Imam Ibn al-Qayyim of the early fourteenth century, Abû 'Abd Allah Muhammad Ibn Abi Bakr, better known by the nickname of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, was the famous disciple of the sheikh of Islam Ibn Taymiyya. Through his work and his experience, he greatly contributed to the elaboration of an orthodox Sunni spirituality as well as to a return to the sources which are the Koran and the Sunnah, with particular attention to the understanding that our pious Elders.
