Title: The Muslim woman in society vol 1

        Author: Tahar Gaïd

        Publisher: IQRA

        Medium: Book

        Theme: Women's Library

God did not create Eve to then reveal laws that are prejudicial to her female offspring. Gustave le Bon said that it was from the Muslims " that the inhabitants of Europe borrowed with the laws of chivalry, the gallant respect for women imposed by these laws... Islam raised the status of women and we can add that it is here the first religion which raised it...". This verse is sufficiently explicit: " ...Women have rights equivalent to their obligations in accordance with propriety... " (S.2, 228).

The book of God therefore recognizes women's unconditional rights in the public and family domain. These rights are as old as Islam itself. They are not the result of a struggle by women for their emancipation but of gifts from God. They have not also undergone, when in their basic principle, transformations imposed by the evolution of time. The religion of God has honored woman and ennobled her as well as man. For example, on the economic level, it has the capacity to acquire property, manage it and bequeath it to whomever it sees fit, sign commercial contracts and incur debt, if it deems it useful.

It follows that perfection and imperfection depend rather on the individual and collective behavior of the human being " He who gives and fears (Allah), declares truthfully al-housnâ (the most beautiful reward). We will facilitate the way for him in greatest happiness. As for the one who is stingy, dispenses (from the worship of Allah) and treats al-housnâ as a lie, We will facilitate the way for him to the greatest difficulty, "(S.92, 5 to 10 ).

The different themes of this book are:

        • The notion of equality
        • The foundations of equality
        • Basic rights
        • The right to life and its implications
        • The reason for the differences
        • Al-qawwâma (the superiority of men?)
        • The Question of Woman's Disobedience
        • The problem of inheritance
        • Claims by women of the rights granted to them by Islam
        • Woman's Oath and Testimony
        • Discussion around the hijab and Islamic decency
        • fake images of women
        • Refutations of some false hadiths
