The work is a compilation of the "FADHA'IL" of Sheikh Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhalawi (May Allah have mercy on him). It is used in ta'alim (teaching) circles in many countries of the world and represents a precious baggage for those who devote themselves to the efforts of religion.

Note that the revision of this version was carried out after having received the authorization of Sheikh Enamoul Hassan (may Allah sanctify his secret and illuminate his tomb) who was the third person in charge of this mission.

The translation and revision of this work were made from the English and French text and later from the original Urdu thanks to the good care of Dr Sanaouallah Khan of Aligarh may Allah bless him for the following parts: Muslim Degeneration and its only remedy, the virtues of prayer, the Koran and the Tabligh and the virtues of dikr. As for the stories of the life of the companions and the virtues of Ramadan, thanks to the scholars and brother of Reunion Island: Mawlânâ Isaac Gangat and Mawlana Ahmad Pattel may Allah protect them and also thank Mawlânâ Hamidoullah Pattel, Ibrahim Soulaiman, Batchou and all the other brothers from Reunion who contributed to this noble enterprise. May he also reward Oum Ismaël and brother Rabia'h who received permission from Hazratji without forgetting Shaikh Mokhtar for his notes, and all those who allowed the publication of this work: mainly the Abdel Qadir family who did it for the thawwab of their deceased son Abdoul Malik as well as Ishmael, my son, who also generously participated. Finally, may he reward all the other numerous brothers who have helped us in one way or another and whose enumeration here would be too long... Who is Sheikh Zakariya Muhammad Yahya ibn Muhammad Ismail Siddiqi Kāndhalawī?

Muhammad ibn Zakariya Muhammad Yahya ibn Muhammad Ismail Siddiqi Kāndhalawī Sahāranpūrī Muhajir-i Madani (Urdu): ل صدیقی کاندھلوی سہارنپوری مہاجر مدنی, born February 2, 1898 died May 24, 1982) was a prominent Hindu Muslim scholar , particularly known as a scholar of hadith, and an influential ideologue of Jamaat Tablighi, the missionary and reform movement founded by his uncle, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas.

Zakariya's writings constitute so much core group reading material in the form of Faza'il-i A`mal. Originally composed in Urdu, but translated into several languages, Faza'il-i A`mal contains many of his treatises on the virtues of different subjects, including Faza'il-i Quran (Virtues of the Quran), Faza' il-i Ramadan (virtues of Ramadan). Also notable among his works, the number of which exceeds one hundred, are Awjaz al-Masalik, a six-volume Arabic commentary on Imam Malik Muwatta, and Khasa'il-i Nabawi, an Urdu translation and commentary on the Imam at-Tirmidhi.
Zacharie was born in Kandhla in 1898, the son of Maulana Muhammad Yahya. He spent ten years in Gangoh, where he attended his father's Madrasah. In 1910, he moved to Saharanpur to study at Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur, a madrasah closely affiliated with Darul Uloom Deoband, the birthplace of the Deobandi Islamic revival movement in India. He learned hadith from his father and from Maulana Ahmad Khalil Saharanpuri. After graduating in 1915, he obtained a teaching position at the school.
Zechariah was also a prominent Sufi shaykh of the Sabiri-Imdadi branch of the Chishti order. He was a khalifah (spiritual successor) of Maulana Saharanpuri, who initiated him into the Sufi path in 1915 and granted him initiator permission in the four main tariqas (Chishtiyah, Naqshbandiyah, Suhrawardiyah and Qadiriyah) in 1925.
He taught at Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur from 1916 to 1969, becoming well-known by the title of "Shaykh al-Hadith", a title given to him by his shaykh, Maulana Saharanpuri, for his extensive knowledge in the field of hadith. After he stopped teaching due to an eye disease, he focused on the spiritual formation of his many disciples.In 1973, he permanently migrated to Medina in Saudi Arabia, where he died in 1982.
Of his thousands of international students and followers, especially his beloved pupil and disciple and khalifah (spiritual successor): The respected Sheikh al-Hadith Maulana Yusuf Motala (may Allah preserve him) who is a teacher of hadith to many ulema and a spiritual guide to thousands around the world.

The writings of Sheikh Zakariya Muhammad:

Sheikh Zakariya Muhammad works in both Arabic and Urdu. A number of these works deal with specialist topics for researchers and the rest have been written for the general public.
His first work was writing a three-volume commentary by Alfiyah Ibn Malik, which he wrote as a student when he was only thirteen.
His work, Fadha'il-e-Quran has been translated into eleven languages, Fadha'il-e-Ramadan into twelve languages, and Fadha'il-e-Salat into fifteen languages.
According to Wali ad-Din Nadwi, Zakariya Muhammad wrote 4 books on tafsir and tajwid, 44 books on hadith and its related sciences, 6 books on fiqh and its related sciences, 24 historical and biographical books, 4 books on aqida, 12 books on zuhd (abstinence) and riqaq (heart-softening accounts), 3 books on Arabic grammar and logic, and 6 books on modern age groups and movements.
According to Muhammad Shahid Saharanpuri (maternal grandson Zakariya Muhammad), his writings amount to 103, of which 42 have been published and 61 have not been published. He wrote 2 books on tafsir, 60 books on hadith, 4 books on fiqh and usul al-fiqh, 22 books on tarikh and sirah, 2 books on tajwid and qira'ah, 3 books on Arabic grammar, classical logic and geometry, 3 books on suluk and ihsan, 4 books for the defense of Islam, and 3 books on miscellaneous subjects.
