Commentary on the Wâsitiyya by Sheikh al-Uthaymin -Shah Al-aqida al wâsitiyya by Ibn Taymiyya
Arabic text with its fully vocalized commentary
Shortly before the Mongols came to Damascus, Ibn Taymiyya was visited by a judge from the city of Wasit in Iraq. The latter complained of the disappearance of Sunni orthodox doctrine in his region. He explained to him the crying need to write for the inhabitants of Wasit a profession of faith which would serve as a reference and could be taught.
Ibn Taymiyya was reluctant at first because, he justified, the great imams of the past had already written about it. However, faced with the insistence of the judge, he sat down after the 'asr prayer and then wrote down the profession of faith that you have in your hands. Before the Maghrib prayer, it was completed and subsequently became one of the main references of authentic Sunni dogma.
This book includes the vocalized Arabic version as well as a quality translation. The content is enriched with a commentary by Sheikh al-'Uthaymîn, also in vocalized Arabic and in French.
