What is science? Is the image of a scientist passionate about research, who observes, experiments and analyzes the world, to find solutions useful to humanity, true?

No. In reality, modern science is “Big Science”, a gigantic multinational industry, with its own objectives. Truth is not the main objective of modern science: it is primarily its economic and political use that matters. Modern natural and human sciences have largely aided colonization, Western world wars and the destruction of nature...

We can no longer have blind trust in “science” so that it enlightens humanity and helps it move towards a better world. Should we then take refuge in “religion”, in a “belief” which makes us fall into superstition, magic and arbitrariness?

No. Islam offers another path, fairer and more universal. Islam is not a “religion” or a “belief”: it is an objective source of knowledge about the reality of the world. It is not a simple subject that is reduced to “religious science”: it is a way of studying all the subjects of life. It is not “the science of Muslims for Muslims”: it is a source of knowledge useful for all. Nor is Islam a “modern” science disconnected from ethics and wisdom. It is this vision of universal knowledge to which this book introduces us.

Ismail Raji al-Faruqi is one of the greatest intellectuals who still inspires the current era, the Western and Muslim world, especially Asian, Arab and Anglo-Saxon. All his work revolves around a great Idea: the sublime love of God must be realized through the love of the True, the Good, the Just and the Beautiful, in all human activities. Islam is then a concrete path which leads to the formation of a good person and a just human civilization.
