The History of the Uyghurs (Original title in Arabic: Layâlî Turkistân , The Nights of Turkestan) , by Najîb al-Kilânî

The author, Najib al Kilânî , invites us to an exciting and poignant adventure in this novel entitled Layâli Turkestan in Arabic ( The nights of Turkestan) which we have chosen to call "The history of the Uyghurs" so that the general public looks at a novel which, very early on, alerted the public to the sad history suffered by the Uyghurs between the 1930s and the 1950s, as if the story was not, in the end, just a perpetual restarting.

But let one of the heroes of this novel, General Uthmân Batûr give us his point of view: “My dear friends ! We will engage in this battle. May those who survive this battle pass on the story of our struggle and our long suffering to the Muslim nations that are sinking into indifference, whether in the South, in the East, in the Maghreb, in Indonesia, in India or in Pakistan! .. Tell them that a civilization like that of al-Andalus is falling.. ” .
