The Wisdoms of Ibn 'Atâ'i-Llâh (died in 709 h./1309) are universally known today. They owe their success to the fact that they respond, through their content, to the requirement that inhabits every human soul in search of meaning, which refuses to be perverted by materialism.
Ibn 'Atâ'i-Llâh was still young when he presented the Wisdoms he had composed to his master al-Mursi. The latter appreciated this work and said to him: “My son, you have put in this notebook the finalities (maqâsid) of the Ihyâ, and more. It designated the famous work of Imam al-Ghazali: the “revitalization” of religious sciences.
This work includes the translation of the Wisdoms, the Epistles and the Intimate Interviews. The whole is accompanied by comments sufficiently explicit to shed useful light on it, but voluntarily restricted so as not to betray the primary vocation of these words, which invite us, by small touches, to follow the path of a deep meditation, purifying and nourishing. our heart.
