    Reading & Expression Level 1 The book corresponding to this level aims to prepare the student psychologically and intellectually to acquire the faculty of the Arabic language. The biggest challenge is to:

    • Remedy articulation problems, first, and familiarize the student with Arabic sounds so that he can distinguish between them when he speaks, writes, or when he listens.

    • Enable the student to know how to transform the spoken sound into a written letter (writing: spelling and dictation), and the written letter into a pronounced sound (reading).

    • Read the letter and write it alone or in a syntagm or a word.

    • Acquire a basic linguistic and lexical base, and know how to use it (expression). These objectives were taken into consideration in the elaboration of these books, as well as the capacities of the pupils of these two levels. The books have therefore been printed with elegance, so that they can be captivating, with a scientific and pedagogical use of colors, shapes, and dimensions, which adopts in the presentation of the material a recreational conduct and which pursues during the presentation and memorization of this material a policy of entertaining learning. It is the same for all levels of learning: teaching, representation and exercise. As for the method followed, it consists in marrying in a well-studied scientific way the three known methods:

    • The global method: which means that one reads a text globally and in a single line, without worrying about or limiting oneself to its small units.

    • The analytical method: it consists of a double segmentation of the text:

    • segment the sentences into enunciative units (words).

    • segment the words into small elements.

    • The compositional method:

    • start from letters and segments to form words.

    • start from words to form sentences.

    It is from a strong awareness coupled with experience and practice that we have chosen this complementary method. This experience and this practice confirm to us that the fact of limiting oneself to one of these three methods generally leads to a kind of handicap and leads to the construction of a very limited linguistic knowledge.

    Worse, learning the Arabic language often leads to a vicious circle when it comes to knowing which comes first: the part or the whole? We have been careful to bring together these three methods, having taken the best of each of them, thus building a complementary scientific methodology, which we believe to be the best for several reasons:
