God enjoins His servants to call on Him alone to ask Him for what they need here or in the hereafter. Indeed, He alone has power over all things, no one can withhold what He has granted nor grant what He has withheld. The believer who invokes God expresses his dependence on Him; that is why calling on God is one of the best forms of worship.

The invocation (du'â') includes the praise of God through His attributes, the recognition of His infinite grace, and the gratitude for His innumerable benefits.
