From Allah’s great favor upon His servants is that He provided this religion with sincere men who sold their souls, dedicated themselves, and shed their blood for the service of their faith. Through their sincerity, dedication, and high aspirations, they reached a distant goal, and they were truly among those to whom journeys are made.

Among these great men is the pious and learned Imam al-Nawawi, the author of the book: The Invocations.

This Imam, who achieved a high level in organizing his time, studying, and striving for knowledge day and night, as well as in calling to the truth through enjoining good and forbidding evil, was guided only by his constant awareness of the truth, Glorified and Exalted.

Due to his profound love for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, he authored The Ornament of the Righteous; to serve as a guide for Muslims in perfectly emulating the Master of the Children of Adam صلى الله عليه وسلم in all words, actions, and states.

This book, “The Invocations from the Words of the Master of the Righteous,” is distinguished by its wide dissemination across the world, to the extent that it is almost present in every Muslim home, as well as among students of knowledge. It has been said about it: “Sell the house and buy the invocations.”

This is due to the sincerity of its author, may Allah have mercy on him, and the knowledge contained in this book; the reader finds many blessed benefits with utmost accuracy and precision. It covers: belief, jurisprudence, hadith, conduct, and more, with thorough investigation, careful presentation, and clear expression. It includes three hundred fifty-six chapters, starting with invocations and ending with forgiveness.

It restricts itself to what is practically used from authentic and good hadiths, which is a major feature.

When Dar al-Minhaj decided to publish it, it accorded it major importance in line with its status; it was compared to five manuscript copies, the most important of which is that written by the scholar Ibn al-Zamalkani and dictated by the close disciple of Imam al-Nawawi, Sheikh al-‘Aarif Ibn al-‘Attar, dated (695 AH), and another copy with annotations and authorization from Ibn al-‘Attar. The book was organized and numbered comprehensively, and the quotes were referenced to their sources.

Additionally, valuable benefits were drawn from the explanations in Futuhat al-Rabbaniyya by Ibn 'Allan, which is extremely important and represents a unique feature of this edition.

Also, benefits and hadith notes were extracted from the Amali of Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani and included in the book in a special appendix, along with many other features, ensuring that this edition is unmatched and stands alone.
