        Title: Companions of the Prophet

        Author: Messaoud Abu Usama

        Publisher: TAWHID

        Medium: Book

Theme: The life of the prophet (sbdl) & The history of Islam

Description: Each Messenger of God had his circle of disciples who supported and strengthened him in his mission in this world. These early believers are also those who have had the merit of keeping and preserving the teachings transmitted by the prophets of God to future generations. If Judaism had its "judges" and if Christianity had its "apostles", Islam also had its "companions" (assahâba), the close disciples of the Prophet (sbdl) who supported him in his apostolate and who spread his message after his death. It is thanks to them that the teachings of Islam have come down to us intact. Through their dedication and fidelity to the way of the Prophet, they were able to transmit to us the words and deeds of what today constitutes the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, the second foundation of Islam after the Koran. Isn't it thanks to them that the Holy Quran was preserved and protected from the alterations experienced by the previous Holy Scriptures? Is it not thanks to them that the Message of the Prophet spread to the four corners of the world and supplanted the other beliefs that had fallen into disuse? There are some among them who have reached their inevitable end and others who are still waiting. They made no changes (to their first commitments). » Koran 33/23 Rich or poor, free or slaves, the only common denominator that bound them was faith in God and fidelity to the Message of the Prophet (sbdl). It was their reason for living and their ideal for which they gave everything, including their lives. In this regard, Professor Khâlid Muhammad Khâlid wonders: "Who incited the nobles of the people of the Prophet to come running to embrace his words and his religion: Abû Bakr, Talha, Az-Zubayr, 'Uthmân ibn 'Affân, 'Abd Ar-Rahmân ibn 'Awf and Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqâs... They left all that they had as glory and pomp for the path of trial?! 2 Indeed, what prompted the weak of his people to come running to be under his banner and follow him, who was without arms and without money? He was not immune to the wickedness and hatred of his relatives, his clan, his people. These early days of Islam when the ordeal was great could repel the first converts, but the strength of the message attracted them. Only God, knew at that time, the repercussions of the Revelation. Consequently, it is the duty of each believer and of each believer to know the life and the prodigious work of the companions in order to imbue his life with their example. It is therefore with this in mind that we have decided to write this work which, without claiming to exhaust the subject,
