The qualities of the virtuous wife, from 'Abd Ar-Razzâq Al-Badr

This epistle entitled “The Qualities of the Virtuous Wife” is not only addressed to the young girl about to be married, nor is it only addressed to the married woman who would like to remember certain qualities. Finally, this epistle is also not exclusively reserved for the woman guilty of neglect of her duties.

No, this epistle has a much more general scope than that: it is a reminder for the father who wishes that these daughters - and all those who live under his authority - enjoy a good education and a healthy life, allowing them thus to enter into married life in accordance with what Allah and His Prophet expect of them. It is also a reminder for the mother, manager of her home and responsible for her daughters, whom she must guide. Indeed many girls acquire character traits that they inherit from their mother.

It is also a reminder for preachers to give importance to this subject and care to spread these noble characters, these praiseworthy and blessed moral principles, to be permanently adopted for daughters and Muslim women.
