This book is an abridgement of the commentary on the Forty Hadiths, written by Mustafâ al-Bughâ and Muhyî ad-Dîn Mistû. These two authors followed the following method: they explain the hadith, deduce the legal rules it contains and extract the essential lessons, taking care to establish connections with the social reality of Muslims. This book intends, in particular, to expose the essence of Islam drawn from the very sources of Islam, namely the Koran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SBDL).
The summary of the exegesis of the 40 Hadîths Nawawi, Commentary: Mustafâ al-Bughâ and Muhyî ad-Dîn Mistû, House of Ennour
Knowing the Forty Hadiths or other hadiths of the Prophet (SBDL) by heart is undoubtedly a pious work that brings one closer to God, but that is not enough. It is also necessary to understand them and grasp their meaning without betraying the spirit of Islam as it is contained in the fundamental and general rules from the Koran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SBDL). Hence the need to turn to scholars and jurisconsults (fuqahâ') who are more than others, especially traditionists (muhaddithîn), qualified to understand the meaning of the hadîth, to grasp their scope, to deduce legal rules and determine their impact.
