        Convinced of the need to prepare an Islamic education program for Muslim children in Europe, we undertook this initiative with great hope and seriousness. The mission is noble and contributions in this field remain rare. Our conviction results from a principle which considers that the educational action, in the strict sense of the term, must be directed in the first place to the children. For what must be done in childhood cannot be postponed until youth or later. If the education of children is solid, all generations will attach themselves to the values of virtue and the possibilities of deviance become rare.

        Failure in the education of children inevitably affects the values that dominate society and it will be difficult to avoid this deficiency later on. It is for this reason that we have given priority to the realization of this program although we have a work for adults entitled "For a balanced and harmonious Islamic education" which is already finished that we have postponed its printing and distribution for later.

        A set of conceptions guided our choice and contributed to the definition of the educational content of the two levels. The first is the indispensable participation in the elaboration of a complementary and harmonious Islamic education. An education that does not neglect one aspect and does not give great importance to another to the detriment of the other dimensions. The second consists in considering the education of Muslim children in Europe as a tool for integration that promotes active participation in the host society and not a factor of rupture and confinement. Continuity and positive interaction with others are the best way to preserve cultural specificities and evolve within the framework of Islamic values. The third relates to the objectives of this education which must aim to help the Muslim child to succeed in his studies, his work and his life in general to the same degree as it seeks to bring him closer to his creator (tptm) ..

        Successful education is one that interacts positively with the social and cultural environment and that presents content adapted to the living conditions of Muslims in a given historical period. Based on this principle, it will attach particular importance to certain values so that the Muslim succeeds in coping effectively with his living conditions. In a simpler way, it helps the individual to succeed in his life without neglecting the principles of his religion.

        Islam encourages the Muslim to adhere to the values of goodness and to behave properly with others regardless of their religious affiliation. It stimulates him to learn, to work seriously and to manage his time, his abilities and his resources well. All these values are essential to establish good relations with others on the one hand and to succeed in this life and in the hereafter on the other hand.

        The educational content of the two levels is varied. It brought together the Koran, religious practices, ethics, invocations, the life of the Messenger Mohamed, the life of the prophets and messengers and the life of the companions. In the first level, we used the Arabic language, weakly mastered by the students, only when quoting the words of the Prophet and Quranic verses while taking advantage of phonetic transliteration. In the second level, we wrote in Arabic a considerable part of the contents of the book in order to stimulate the pupils to retain certain terms and concepts in their language of origin.

        It is essential to emphasize that the success of any educational program depends not only on its scientific value but also on the effort of the teacher and the work of the students. The role of the teacher is central in the educational action and is not limited solely to the transmission of knowledge and concepts. His good behavior, his conviction and his application of the values that he transmits to the students is an essential factor in the success of the educational act. The seriousness of the students and their discipline is a very important dimension that cannot be neglected.

        Finally we submit our effort to you, hope that it will be well received and that it will be among our good works on the day of the resurrection.
