Description: The faithful Muslim in his religious practice combines his heart and his body, thus, when the heart accepts the message of the prophet Mohammed (bdsl), the body (by the language) proclaims the chahâda; when the heart feels the need to express its submission to God, the body bows down, etc. The tendency towards excellence (al ihssâne) in all things is a virtue of faith, and the progression in the practice of the body and the purification of the heart are among the elements which contribute to the concrete animation of this movement (towards the 'excellence), thus, in addition to motivation (al himma), knowledge (al ma'rifa) build its backbone. Indeed, no practice is possible without science (God does not give holiness (the wilaya) to an ignoramus, and if He were to give it to him, He inspires his teaching). Therefore, one can claim the fulfillment of religion without a minimum of knowledge (al fiqh, 'ilmu-l-khuchû'). The fiqh (exoteric science) is all the elements of religious information that allow the faithful to shape the framework and the material of his act. 'Ilmu-l-khuchû (science of recollection) also called 'ilmu-l-asrâr (esoteric science or secrets) teaches recollection, sincerity, spiritual states, purity of niyya, etc. and these constitute the spirit of the act. This present book deals with this second part of religious science, it is about the secrets of the five pillars of Islam. Imam Al Ghazâlî (twelfth century) and Imam Dahlaoui (nineteenth century) develop in different but concordant ways the spiritual dimension and the multiple aspects and secrets of the bases of Muslim religious practices.
