Who is master of human destiny?

Man's ever-increasing hold on the elements and his ever-increasing science can give him the impression that he has mastered his destiny and that at the end of his scientific journey there is necessarily his happiness. This vision, prompting him too often to deny major contributions from the past and to reject religion altogether, omits that the world is based on invariable laws. However, what man must conform to in his behavior, according to the teaching of Islam, revolves precisely around the axes of the immutable order. From this perspective, religion turns out to be nothing less than a code placing man on a path in harmony with existence. But what are these axes? And what do they imply? Then what, in religion, is called to change and what remains invariable? The answer to these questions is the whole subject of this book.
