The torments of the grave - according to Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali - God has installed His servants in the present abode to test them and see which of them does the best works. He will then transfer them to the abode of Barzakh where they will await the Day of Resurrection, the day when they will be gathered together and when each will be rewarded according to his works.
