The purification of the body with pure water is a preliminary act which prepares for the purification of the heart. It is worth nothing without the purification of the heart which must match it.

Description: The purification of the body with pure water is a preliminary act which prepares for the purification of the heart. It is worth nothing without the purification of the heart which must match it. It symbolizes the first half of faith and the condition of the second half which consists in occupying the ablutionated limbs with acts of obedience (tâ'a). Purification of the body erases venial sins. The Prophet (r) said: “Whoever does his little ablution and does it well, that one his body will be cleansed of sins to the point that they come out from under his fingernails. (Muslim). The present work that we have drawn from fiqh As-Sunna of Sayyid Sâbiq deals with the purification of the body, that of the exterior which is one of the conditions of validity of the prayer. It is this kind of purification that the fuqahâ' deal with in their books of jurisprudence. Our goal is to allow readers who are more interested in this branch of fiqh to have in their hands a detailed and simple book on the question, and filled with Koranic verses and prophetic traditions. May God bless this work and make it benefit everyone who aspires to perfection and proximity.
