Abu Hurayra said: "The Messenger of Allah encouraged (Muslims) to watch the nights of Ramadan in prayer, without however making it an obligation, and he said:" Whoever watches in prayer the nights of Ramadan with faith and hoping (the reward of Allah) will see all his previous sins forgiven."
