Way to Mecca, by Muhammad Asad

The story that I am going to tell in this book is not the autobiography of a man remarkable for his role in public affairs; and it is not an adventure story — for although many strange adventures have occurred on my journey, they have never been more than an accompaniment to what was going on within me —; nor is it the story of a deliberate search for faith — for that faith has come to me, over the years, without any effort on my part to find it. My story is quite simply that of the discovery of Islam by a European and his integration into the Muslim community.
