“In the succession of ideas that I exposed in the previous lecture, I had reached a major conclusion posing a question mark as much on the destiny of all humanity as on the role of the Muslim in the last third of the 20th century. I had indeed affirmed at the end of this conference that Europe had accomplished miracles in the world of discoveries and in that of science. But she lost in her heart of hearts this dimension which brought her comfort, relaxation and support in adversity, because linking her to the existence of God. If the Muslim wants to fill this void in thirsty souls, souls eager for new motivations, he would first have to raise his level to that of civilization in order to be able to raise it to the level of the sacredness of existence ( …) I say all these words as a testament that I leave...».

"Undoubtedly the role of the Muslim in relation to this world will be to satiate it or to quench its spiritual thirst, provided however that he satisfies an essential requirement, that which would make him appear in the eyes of this world. and those of the civilized man as the man who deserves the highest consideration, even if he does not possess missiles or an atomic bomb. If this first condition is realized and the Muslim returns to the scene of history as a civilized man, he can effectively discharge the task of ridding civilized man of the yoke of materialism".
