Discovering Islam according to Hamid Muhammad Ghanim:
This book was designed for two reasons which are as follows: firstly to provide non-Muslims with a simplified introduction to Islam, so that they know the word, the meaning, the dogma and the pillars, as well as its principles, values and mores.
Then, to show that nowadays many Muslims are Muslims only by tradition or by imitation of their families, because they were born Muslims and grew up without knowing why they are.
The presence of Islam in the European area is growing. Once a religion of emigrants, Islam is now rooted in many European countries. In France, Belgium, Britain and elsewhere, every day, ethnic Europeans are born Muslim.
Despite this de facto anchoring, Islam continues to arouse distrust and Muslims are still often perceived as foreigners. Because, on the one hand, of the behavior of certain Muslims who misunderstood the requirements of their faith, and on the other hand, of a will of a part of the politico-media and sometimes even intellectual world to stigmatize the Islam.
This is a book that presents Islam as a whole. It is aimed at anyone wishing to know Islam better, beyond divisions and prejudices. Get to know each other better in order to understand each other and live better together.
