THE AUTHOR
Shaykh ' Abdurrahmân Ibn Nâsir As-Sa'dî is a recognized contemporary scholar, born in 1889 (1307H) and died in 1957 (1376H) in Saudi Arabia. He was the author of a large number of works useful to the community, the best known of which is his exegesis of the Qur'ân : Taysîr Al-Karîm Ar-Rahmân fî Tafsîr Kalâm Al-Mannân , better known under the name of Tafsir As-Sa'di .
The book you are holding was written following a hospitalization by the Shaykh , during which his son gave him a book by Dale Carnegie entitled Stop Anxiety and Start Your Life. He took great pleasure in reading this work and, on his return, he took the initiative to write a work on the same subject, shorter and drawing its teachings from the Qur'ân .
He entitled his book The useful means for a happy life, a title that we preferred to adapt by naming it Manual to be happy.
