The 40 hadith on epidemics: Dogma, Law & Spirituality - الأربعون الوبائية في العقيدة والفقه والتزكية, by Abu Zakariyya Al-Hussayni (Bilingual (French - Arabic)

Infectious epidemics appeared in ancient times and decimated thousands of people. The entire prophetic guidance regarding epidemics demonstrates the precedence of Islam in health awareness, medical protection and the precision of its instructions in limiting the spread of human epidemics, due to the preventive measures set forth by Muḥammad ﷺ , the Prophet of Islam. This peculiarity highlights the greatness of the prophetic message and the veracity of the Mohammadian prophecy, covering it – by the sublime meanings of the rules relating to purification ( taḥāra ) – with miraculous aspects.

Thus, the author has followed the emblematic imāms and ḥuffāzh of Islam, collecting forty ḥadīth on epidemics and infectious diseases, divided into three parts: dogmatic norms, legal rules and, finally, spiritual dispositions. In this compilation the author has respected the standards usually used by scholars in their collections of the Forty ḥadīth, such as the authenticity of the narrations, the conciseness of the texts and the richness of their teachings. He then commented on it in a modern style, so that it would be accessible to everyone, far from enigmatic and complex formulations. This commentary is intended for the general public with a strong educational and spiritual dimension.
