Deeply a man of faith, Al-Ghazali sees the need to respond to certain allegations of philosophers that he considers too pretentious and far removed from religion. He then develops an essential part of his thought, namely the valuation of a "spiritual intuition", which he considers naturally superior to reason. Only this "intuitive knowledge" can lead to knowledge of God and the world.

Al-Ghazali then develops an essential part of his thought, namely the valorization of a "spiritual intuition", which he considers naturally superior to reason.
