Nigella seeds are tiny black seeds of a ranunculaceae with white flowers, Nigella sativa. Called habat al-baraka in Egypt, al-kamoun in Libya, al-sânouj in Morocco. Also called Black Cumin, its fragrant seeds are used in particular to flavor bread. A saying of the Prophet Mohammed (SwS) affirms that the seed of Nigella "would cure everything except death".
