Title: The Medicine of the Prophet Muhammad
Author: Jalal Ad-Din As-Suyûtî
Publisher: FOOD
Medium: Book
Theme: Civilization of Islam
Description: In this book, you will see the greatness of the wisdom of the Prophet of Islam in matters of health.
Health is not limited only to the preservation of the body from diseases, such is the main directive of the Prophet (pbuh).
Prophetic medicine is, in fact, interested in the human being as a whole, taking into account the dimension of the body, the spirit and the heart.
Among his many teachings, our beloved Prophet (pbuh) recalled the beauty of the divine Gift of life and the importance of honoring this life by preserving one's health. Indeed, he always encouraged his disciples and the faithful of his community to guard against illnesses, to heal themselves by seeking remedies for their illnesses, including those of the soul, those which distance the servant from his Lord.
"In prayer, there is a healing", he said (saas), healing which is the peace of the heart and the soul bringing then a state of general well-being and an unequaled peace of mind.
The reader will certainly discover, in this illustrious work of the Imam As-Suyoutî, many practical advices, reflections and eternal wisdoms.
When we go through the Sunna of the Prophet (blessings and salvation of God be upon him), we find there obvious indications on these different fields of medicine: physical illnesses, mental and psychological illnesses. He is (blessings and peace of God upon him) the doctor of body and soul. It was he who said, "For every disease God sent down a remedy (a cure)."
Osama Ibn Shurayk reported this: "I came to meet the Messenger of God. His Companions stood motionless like perches on which the birds stood without fear, I greeted him, then sat down. When the delegations many Bedouins came, they began to question him. Some asked him: “O Messenger of God! Should we be cured?" He answered them: "Treat yourselves, for every disease God has sent down a remedy, except for one disease: the disease of old age."
