CHARH KITAB AT-TAWHID: The Commentary on the Book of Oneness, by Abd Ar-Rahmân Ibn Nâsir Ibn Sadi
This book is one of the most precious works on the subject of monotheism, because it is based on the Book and the Sunnah, the author, may Allah have mercy on him, reporting in each chapter verses from the Koran and hadiths from the authentic Sunna in chain of transmission or in meanings, as well as the words of the scholars and Imams explaining the meanings of these verses and hadiths, and this in each chapter. This book is not composed of the words of So-and-so or So-and-so, nor the words of the author, but only includes the Word of Allah and the word of the Messenger of Allah, as well as the words of the Imams of this community , among the Companions, the tābi`ūn and others among the Imams taken as an example.
The importance of this book therefore comes from the fact that it is based on the Book and the Sunnah, on verses and hadiths. No one can claim that it is the word of So-and-so or the word of Ibn `Abd Al-Wahhāb, but rather it must be said: "This book is composed of the Word of Allah and the word of the Messenger of Allah, as well as the words of the Imams of Islam. This is how books should be written. [I`ānah al-mustafīd sharh Kitāb at-tawḥīd, by Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān, may Allah preserve him, (1/18-19)].
Further adding to the importance of this book are the comments brought to it by the eminence `Abd Ar-Raḥmān Ibn Nâsir Ibn Sa'dî (d. 1376 H.), which we offer the reader in this translation, asking to Allah the Most High may it be beneficial.
