In " The Liberation of Women through Islam: The Response to the Misunderstandings of Extremists of All Sides" , Muhammad Oumara highlights female emancipation according to the teachings of the Koran, based on equality in dignity, duties and responsibilities between men and women, while respecting their natural complementarity. The author deconstructs extremist discourses based on more than 300 hadiths illustrating the active participation of women in society during the prophetic era. He defends a mixed society in accordance with Islamic principles, where women's social commitment is in harmony with the rules of decency and respect for the specificities of each individual.

The Liberation of Women through Islam: The Response to the Ambiguities of Extremists of All Sides

Author: Muhammad Oumara - Edition: LES CALLIGRAPHES

This study focuses on highlighting the Islamic model of women's emancipation, which is based on the texts and logic of the Noble Quran. God created men and women from a single soul. He made them equal in creation, dignity, abilities, obligations, accountability, association and solidarity in the fulfillment of social duties, by commanding what is right and proscribing what is wrong.
This equality must be understood in the sense of a complementarity of two different beings, due to their masculinity and femininity, and not of two beings who are completely identical, and therefore who oppose each other in a confrontation without issue. At the time of the Prophet, women participated with men in all areas of public activity: religion, consultation, politics and social life, not to mention the family and lawful entertainment.
We have listed more than 300 authentic hadiths reporting this role played by women. This shows that Muslim society is a mixed society, in accordance with the rules of Islamic propriety, while ensuring the preservation of the innateness, femininity and masculinity of each person.
