Thus, this plant, which originally was intended to heal, was quickly transformed into a poison and a scourge for all of humanity.

Be that as it may, the Muslim must face this scourge which destroys both the health and the personality of the believer. We have seen fit to publish a book on the place of tobacco in Islam. Is it classified as a good or bad thing for human beings?

In short, after giving an overview of the history of tobacco and its harmful effects, we have presented the general and unanimous opinion of theological schools and Muslim scholars on the prohibited character (Haram) of tobacco.
