What is France and "being French" - To those who thought they knew and those who did not know, by Mahboubi Moussaoui
At the dawn of the 21st century, real confusion remains within the French population on an essential subject: "what is it to be French". Written in a simple and concise style, this book tackles the subject, in the form of a presentation of all the ingredients that have contributed to the shaping of modern France, but also of the bond of belonging to this nation. Its purpose is to bring a bit of light to ordinary citizens by removing ambiguities and dispelling confusions.

What is France and "being French" - To those who thought they knew and those who did not know, by Mahboubi Moussaoui
One cannot live in France and be unaware of what "being French" is . A certain number of works have been devoted to this theme, but the book that we present here is particular both in substance and in form.
Written in a simple and concise style, it approaches the subject, in the form of a presentation of all the ingredients that have contributed to the shaping of modern France, but also of the bond of belonging to this nation.
Its vocation is to bring a bit of light to the ordinary citizen by removing the ambiguities and dissipating the confusion generated by a whole historiography and a whole partisan political discourse (conservatism, nationalism, progressivism, etc. ) . In short, the reading of this book, accessible to all, is supposed to challenge the reader, enlighten him on certain points and arouse in him a certain number of questions.
