Of Islam and Muslims, by Tariq Ramadan
On Islam and Muslims - Reflections on Man, Reform, War and the West, by Tariq Ramadan
It is a return to the sources that Tariq Ramadan invites, by a necessary work of " terminological clearing" around the central and too often misguided notions of shah â da (testimony), of shari'a (way) and of jih â d (effort). A serene introduction to the humanism of Islam

On Islam and Muslims - Reflections on Man, Reform, War and the West, by Tariq Ramadan
The “question” of Islam obsesses the West. Religion, secularism, citizenship, immigration, integration, multiculturalism, extremism: on these subjects, everything contributes to damaging its image. And what about those young people who go madly to war, to jihad do they think, to join violent groups that betray the most basic teachings of Islam?
In this unprecedented confusion, it is important to return to basic principles and notions, in search of concrete solutions. What conception of man do we find at the heart of the Islamic message? How to understand and embody it in the Western context? What about the essential liberation of women? How to fight against Islamophobia? Questions posed here, with rigor and simplicity, for the use of women and men, Muslims or not, wishing to understand each other, to dialogue and to live together in justice and peace.
It is a return to the sources that Tariq Ramadan invites, by a necessary work of " terminological clearing" around the central and too often misguided notions of shah â da (testimony), of shari'a (way) and of jih â d (effort). A serene introduction to the humanism of Islam
