The author invites us to become aware of the real environmental issues that concern all of humanity today by placing the ethical and spiritual dimension at the heart of the process of change.

The thought of the author is carried by a conviction: if the role of human and social sciences is central, this one is inseparable from a criticism and a reconsideration of our perception of the being and its environment. He develops his reflection from a historical and cultural approach by proposing an interpretation of the sources of Islam in tune with the complex ecological, socioeconomic, political and geostrategic challenges inherent in modernity. The great merit of this book is to help raise environmental issues to the rank of a civilizational issue .

His analysis starts from an observation: the Western conception of the relationship between man and the environment, guided by rationalism and the materialist ideal, has led our planet to an unprecedented crisis. It is however possible for us to remedy this collectively by providing lasting solutions, which integrate the "cultural" dimension, based on a diagnosis of the root causes at the origin of this situation which is constantly worsening in a context of globalization and globalization of the economy.

Author of numerous works on Islam, on its foundations and on social issues, Doctor of Theology and Philosophy from the University of Alzhar , Abdelmajid Najjar has taught in various universities (Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, France, Qatar , Emirates, Libya, Malaysia) . He has participated in many international conferences and has been the scientific advisor to many academic institutions ( He is a member of the scientific council of the IESH and of the European Council for fatwa and research) .
