Tareq Oubrou is known as the “Grand Imam of Bordeaux”. Born in Morocco in 1959 to French-speaking parents, he arrived in France at the age of 19 to study medicine and biology. Very quickly, he became more interested in religious sciences, to become an imam. He became one of the major spokespersons for Muslims in France in the media. He chaired the association Imams of France.
