Call for reconciliation! Muslim faith and values of the French Republic, by Tareq Oubrou
This "Call", which comes from within the Muslim community, is a wise and reasoned cry that looks like a fight. In twelve chapters, three main parts (Understanding Islam / The Muslim man, who is he? / Islam and society) this book questions the main prejudices conveyed on the Muslim faith, prejudices carried by a certain number of non-Muslims, but also above all, by the Muslims themselves. Tareq Oubrou strives to base his argument on his in-depth knowledge of the corpus of Muslim texts (Koran and Sunna) and other human sciences, while maintaining a striking and accessible writing. This is an eminently courageous text, which addresses many very sensitive subjects such as the veil, the miscreant, or even more, that of anti-Semitism which "is blasphemy", according to Tareq Oubrou. This "Call", which comes from within the Muslim community, is a wise and reasoned cry that looks like a fight. Tareq Oubrou has already written a few books around Muslim thought. Here, he synthesizes, fixes and deepens all the issues between French Republican Values and liberal Muslim faith. This is a major book in his thinking.
