This book exposes the definitions given of the various categories of sins by the scholars as well as the divergences of those on this subject; he then presents the seven so-called mûbiqât or fatal sins, explains them and highlights their field of application, relying on the commentaries of exegetes and scholars.
The Prophet (SwS) said “Avoid the seven fatal sins (mûbiqât).- And what are these fatal sins, O Messenger of God? he was asked. -These are, he replied, the fact of associating with God (another than Him), witchcraft, the murder of a soul that God has protected from a prohibition, except with good reason, the fact of eating usury, to eat the good of the orphan, to flee on the day of battle and to slander the virtuous believers who do not think of evil" (Al-Bukhârî and Muslim)
These sins have been called al-mîbiqât, that is to say al-muhlikât, because they cause the loss of the one who commits them, and lead him to Hell, may God preserve us from it!
