The Meditations, by Ibn Al-Qayyim
This book is important from the point of view of the arguments put forward. It is astonishing from the point of view of the themes covered, and exceptional from the point of view of its compilation and the beneficial lessons that can be drawn from it. The author has not organized it according to a well-defined plan, or a pre-established classification. We rather have the impression that he made this book the warehouse of the various scientific teachings that crossed his mind and that are not found in the chapters of other books.
These Fawâ'id are thus scattered information and multiple deductions. Therefore, it should be known that the term Fawâ'id in the jargon of the authors designates a work which brings together many thoughts and reflections which cross the mind of a scholar, which he deduces from religious texts, from the reality of life, or both. These reflections are also the result of long experience and sustained efforts in constant contact with science, scholars, books and scientific debates.
