It appears clearly, both in the teachings of the Koran and in those of the Prophet, that good relations with parents is the act most recommended to the Muslim, the one that comes just after the attestation of faith and the fulfillment of the obligations who as a result. There is no age for the practice of filial piety. Of course, a young child is bound to respect and obey his parents. But his own father is also bound to the same filial piety towards his parents without his age in any way diminishing his obligations in this respect. If it is certainly necessary to say insistently that children are bound by duties towards their parents, it is no less essential to recall, in an equally insistent way, that parents also have imperious duties towards of their children. - 2h40 conference
