Following on from his seminal work The Crisis of the Modern World, in this work (The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times), written in 1945, more than half a century already, he considers the refutation of ideologies modern from metaphysical principles. More than half a century later, his warnings and his anticipations have proven to be exact, and of a bewildering precision, whether in their political, social, economic, scientific (or rather scientistic), mathematical, psychic, psychological, geopolitical, philosophical, industrial, intellectual and ecological. We are witnessing a domination of quantity to the detriment of quality (whether intellectual, professional, marital, family, spiritual, health, etc.).
The main superstitions of the modern world are deciphered and undermined there (materialism, rationalism, psychoanalysis, "democratism", scientism, spiritualism and New Age, charlatanism and pseudo-prophecies, etc.). If modernists and "rigorists" of all persuasions read and meditated deeply on the considerations set out in this work, they would not have fallen into the tenacious illusions and superstitions of our time. Everything is exposed there with a clear "mathematical" rigor.
