Author: Muhammed al-Jabiri - Editions: SANA - Format: Pocket
Al-Hajj (the pilgrimage to the holy places of Islam) is one of the five pillars of the Muslim religion. Its accomplishment (for those who have the means) obeys well-defined rules. By responding to the divine invitation, the pilgrim places himself in a state of sacralization (ihram).
The spiritual value of the act lies in the stripping of oneself to devote oneself entirely to the worship of God. This is accomplished by the realization of the formulas of glorification, praise, magnification and supreme attestation of the One God, as well as by the imploration and invocation of mercy during the sacred days of the pilgrimage.
Intended for non-Arabic-speaking pilgrims, or those with little command of Arabic, this work is designed as a guide. For each stage, the phonetic transcription of the invocations reserved for it is followed by the original Arabic text, and the French translation is placed at the end of each rite.
