Islam recommends that Muslims choose a surname (or first name) taken from the Arabic language, a rich language which has provided an incalculable number of first names. In this book, we offer you a list, which remains incomplete, of first names accepted by the Muslim tradition. And we have followed this one with another that includes first names that are not recommended or even prohibited.

Dictionary of Arabic first names accepted by the Muslim tradition, Editions Sana
Islam recommends Muslims to choose a surname (or first name) taken from the Arabic language, a rich language which has provided an incalculable number of first names. However, it is important that the first name given has a positive meaning, Islam being sensitive to the semantic dimension of first names.
Remember that there are first names that can be either prohibited by Muslim Tradition, or not recommended because of their negative connotation, but also because they can be a bad omen or convey a meaning that goes against reality.
For these reasons, we have tried, in this book, to select a list, which nevertheless remains incomplete, of first names accepted by the Muslim Tradition. And we have followed this one with another that includes first names that are not recommended or even prohibited.
