What is the purpose of our life? Why and how to worship God? What is the deeper meaning of Islamic cultural practices? Beyond the details and the differences of school, Al-Qaradâwî carries out, in this work, a setting in prospect which will answer the interrogations of all those, Moslems or not, who wish to deepen their comprehension of Islam.

The worship of God in Islam, by Dr. Yousouf Al-Qaradâwî
Worshiping God is, according to Islam, the fundamental role of human beings in existence and the very purpose of their creation. All the prophets have, in turn, called men to worship God without associating anything with him, as many verses of the Koran emphasize.
The mission of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) , as a bucket of Prophets, has been to recall this fundamental message, to purify the worship of God from deviations from previous religions and to teach men the definitive form of the worship and way of life which together constitute Islam. Because worshiping God does not only mean practicing worship in the strict sense of the term: the meaning of worshiping God in Islam is much broader than that, since it extends to every moment of our lives, to the most banal of our actions.
To adore God is of course to practice the religious rites in the manner that He has prescribed, but also to make each action an act of worship by directing it towards the search for divine satisfaction, it is to put in harmony with the whole universe by expressing its submission to the will of the Almighty.
It is these essential truths about the meaning of the Muslim religion that Sheikh Youssouf al-Qardâwî explains in this book, by asking simple but crucial questions: What is the purpose of our life? Why and how to worship God? What is the deeper meaning of Islamic cultural practices? Beyond the details and school differences, it provides a perspective that will answer the questions of all those, Muslims or not, who wish to deepen their understanding of Islam.
