Description: Faith is perhaps most closely related to devotion of the heart and conviction of the mind. While these two things are abstract phenomena, most religious obligations require physical cleanliness before or during the observance of a given ritual. Cleanliness in Islam defines in detail physical cleanliness, as it is an obligation and an integral part of the ritual prayers prescribed in Islamic practice. Cleanliness primarily means protecting one's own person and environment from all kinds of impurities. This book also emphasizes the spiritual dimension of cleanliness. such as purifying his heart from all that is evil and not sullying his wealth with illegitimate income. He explains that purifying one's body from all physical impurity and one's heart from all spiritual impurity — such as false beliefs and doctrines, associating partners with God, hypocrisy, and other sins — are religious and moral tasks inherent in human being. Remzi Kusçular graduated in theology from the University of Dokuz Eylül in Izmir (Turkey). He teaches religion in a public school in Izmir.
