Nutrition in Islam, Authors: Assata Doumbia - Fatima Oulhadj - Hassan Younes

The Muslim religion integrates different aspects of life including nutrition, but not all Muslims necessarily know ( or do not apply) all the recommendations. It is in no way a portrait of the "Muslim at the table" that this book seeks to draw, but rather a ( non-exhaustive ) inventory of the sacred texts and hadiths around nutrition which would make it possible to provide elements in order to better understand the behavior at table or the particular relationship to certain foods.

The purpose of this book is to enable those who seek answers in matters of nutrition in Islam, to acquire or develop solid and valid knowledge on the subject. With this in mind, it was written by experienced dieticians-nutritionists as well as a teacher-researcher expert in human nutrition and health. It is therefore aimed as much at healthy people as at people suffering from pathologies and having a diet to adapt (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, etc.) in order to enable them to best reconcile spirituality , culinary traditions and nutrition-health.

This book is also intended for caregivers (Muslim or not!) in order to allow them to take this spiritual dimension into account or even trigger a reflection on their professional approach: the ideal would be to be able to give advice integrating the recommendations of the Muslim religion .
