Prayer, the second pillar of Islam, is essential to preserve the religion, it is the secret of success, expiates sins, raises spiritual rank and multiplies good deeds. Preserving prayer is a sign of faith, while neglecting its practice leads to perdition. This work, "The description of the prayer of the Prophet", is the French translation of the book "Sifât Salat An-Nabî" by the learned Sheikh Muqbil Ibn Hadi Al-Wadi'i, with annotations by his daughter 'Um Abd Allah.

"Prayer is what is most important for the servant, after the two attestations of faith. He who accomplishes it with assiduity and preserves it will certainly have preserved his religion. As for the one who neglects it, he will certainly be still more careless for the rest. This is the second pillar of Islam and its basis, as authentically established from the Prophet: "The pinnacle of the matter is Islam and its cornerstone is the prayer". Because of his importance and his rank, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) did not stop making recommendations about him, even in the last moments of his life, as reported by Imam Ahmad in the Musnad with an established chain: "The last words of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) were: "Prayer! Prayer! Fear Allah in what you possess!".
Prayer is the secret of success, the foundation of success, and the first of his works about which the servant will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection. If it is valid, he will have succeeded; if it is not, he will have failed miserably. Preserving prayer is a sign of sincerity and faith, while neglecting it is a sign of degradation and perdition. Moreover, it makes it possible to expiate the sins of the servant, to elevate him in rank and to multiply his good deeds tenfold. It is therefore incumbent on the Muslim to give it due value and to consider it as it should, for without it the religion of the person cannot stand and his works cannot be valid."
