The anthem of a country is the one that takes you to the guts, the one that tells the story of a people, your story, your identity. This song that unites hearts and brings people together. Mine is the Brabançonne. On a tune of lively music, he transports his people through History. This History that we somehow try to forget, that we forget to tell, is mine. And mine started in 1964.

"O fatherland, o dear mother", why do you reject me? Why don't you want me anymore? O homeland , my dear homeland, have you forgotten the sacrifices of my people, those who helped you to recover and develop?

This hymn, I decided to rewrite it, so that it is more inclusive, more tolerant, so that it brings together more hearts.

A testimony, a duty of memory, for all those forgotten by the convention, for all the victims of this bilateral agreement.

      About the Author: Nora Abied

Born in Brussels in the 90s, Abied Nora is above all a teacher dedicated to her profession and fascinated by writing. Writing is her therapy and she already understood this very young .

At the end of her studies and after some fruitless research, she decided to take off. It is in the streets of Cairo that her experience continues and that she will find her place. A place that will raise so many questions about its identity.

Some time later, this desire to discover the world intensifies and today, in a totally unexpected way, it is the United States that has opened its arms to her, it is this new part of the globe that she now calls " At my house ".

Citizen of the world, expatriate or immigrant, her quest and her fight is her identity
