About Muhammad Hamidullah
Muhammad Hamidullah, born February 19, 1908 in Hyderābād, India, and died December 17, 2002 in Jacksonville, Florida, was a Muslim scholar, theologian and researcher. A graduate in International Muslim Law, doctor of philosophy and doctor of letters, he has written around forty works on the history of Muslim thought, with emphasis on the philosophy of law and diplomacy. His intellectual heritage includes more than 2000 articles translated into around twenty languages. Working at the CNRS, he wrote in five languages: Arabic, Urdu, English, French and German. In particular, his translation of the Quran into French, published in 1959, is a historical reference and was republished twelve times until 1986. This box set offers privileged access to a significant part of the intellectual heritage of Professor Muhammad Hamidullah.
