It is with great pleasure that al-Hadîth editions present to the public the first complete French translation of the Sahih Muslim, enriched with valuable commentaries. To avoid the famous trap “to translate is to betray” and to ensure the good quality of our work, both linguistically and religiously, we have referred to the commentaries (sharh) that Muslim scholars have made on Sahîh Muslim. We therefore did not hesitate to use several of them, including:

• Minnat al-Mun'im fî Sharh Sahîh Muslim of al-Mubârakfûrî;
• Fath al-Mun'im Sharh Sahîh Muslim by Mûsâ Shâhîn Lâshin;
• Al-Kawkab al-Wahhâj wal-Rawd al-Bahhâj fî Sharh Sahîh Muslim Ibn al-Hajjâj of Muhammad al-Amîn al-Urmî;
• Mawsû'at Fath al-Mulhim by Shabbîr Ahmad al-'Uthmânî;
• Al-Minhâj bi Sharh Sahîh Muslim Ibn al-Hajjâj of al-Nawawî;
• Ikmâl al-Mu'lim bi Fawâ'id Muslim of Qâdî 'Iyâd;
• Al-Dîbâj 'alâ Sahîh Muslim Ibn al-Hajjâj of Imam al-Suyûtî;
• Qurrat 'ayn al-Muhtâj and al-Bahr al-Muhît al-Thajjâj by Muhammad Ibn 'Ali Ibn Âdam al-Ithyûbî.
