This work is the translation of a summary of the exegesis of the Koran, which is a work accomplished in several volumes by Ismail b. Kathîr (died in 774 of the Hegira). In the introduction to his exegesis, this Muslim scholar exposes the best method for the explanation of Koranic verses. He said: The fairest method is to explain the Quran by the Quran. If this process "tires" you, then you can use the Sunna: it explains the Koran, illustrates it.

Thanks to God ! This humble work of translation was done with respect for that spirit. We report faithfully, for the segments or the Quranic verses, the explanations given, the hadiths of the Prophet (pbuh) corresponding and the Quranic passages.
