The Quran: A User's Manual, by Yûsuf Al-Qaradâwî

The Quran was revealed to guide men in the best of ways and on the best of paths. He came to confirm the principles of dogma and morals which are contained in the former Books, before they were altered and touched up by the hand of men, and to correct the errors which the latter are introduced into them. This is why the Quran has features that distinguish it from other books. First, it's easy to learn. In addition, it is preserved from any alteration. It deals with all religion. It concerns all times. It concerns all of humanity.

The Koran aims to establish a relationship between man and his Lord, based on an exclusive worship of God and absolute respect for his Law. Just as it aims to purify the soul of man, so as to make him a beneficent person for society and not a harmful being for it. The Koran also proposes to build the family, which constitutes a reduced image of society, on solid foundations and to do justice to women, who are the pillar of the family.

For all these reasons, the Koran deserves that we have the best relationship with it, both in our way of learning it, reciting it, listening to it or meditating. It is necessary to have the best relationship with it, both in our way of understanding it and of explaining and commenting on it. Just as we must have the best relationship with the Koran, both in our way of following it, putting it into practice, observing its precepts or propagating its values. The book of God is a code of individual conduct, as it is a code of political life and a code of preaching.
